In 1975, Jim Blackburn set out to design stronger, lighter, more innovative and more reliable cycling products. The first were bags and racks designed for touring. From there, Blackburn grew.

BONTRAGER
The year was 1980. After three concussions, two broken collar bones, two separated shoulders and one broken back, bicycle design expert Keith Bontrager decided to retire from the sports of motocross racing and cross country motorcycling. It was time to move on to his second career.

Cannondale has come a long way since its birth in a crowded loft above a pickle factory in 1971, when it introduced the cycling industry's first bicycle trailer. The company grew quickly during its early years, adding cycling apparel and accessory lines along the way while also earning a strong reputation for innovation and quality. That reputation proved invaluable when Cannondale introduced its first bicycle, a touring model, in 1983, followed by a road racing model and a mountain bike model in 1984.

CAT EYE
Cateye was founded in 1946 in Osaka, Japan and today is the world leader in the manufacture of cycle computers, lights and reflectors. In 1964, Cateye produced the first flashing light for cycle use and went on to create the very first white LED front light in 2001.
