Manitou Mastodon Pro - Gen 3 Fat Bike Suspension Fork

The Mastodon is not a modified or repurposed trail fork compatible with large tyre dimensions, but rather it is a fat bike fork made to improve any ride regardless of how low or high the numbers on the thermometer read. Creating such a dynamic fork required all-environment and all-temperature performance testing that took the R+D staff to some of the most inhospitable testing environments in the world. To earn its place within the Manitou family, the Mastodon passed performance and reliability testing in both real-world and lab scenarios at temperatures as low as -40 degrees. The Dorado Air, seals, lubricants, and all other internals are proven for all-weather performance, no matter how extreme on either end of the temperature spectrum. Like all Pro level suspension, the Mastodon utilises the Dorado air spring that first debuted in our iconic Dorado model. The newest version of the mastodon incorporates the VTT6 damper for a simplified and more intuitive adjustment. The VTT6’s single knob adjusts both high and low-speed characteristics. The resulting wide tuning range allows riders to easily find the perfect set-up for any terrain. These technologies, along with IVA volume adjustment allow for fine-tuning of the air spring curve that adapts to an extremely wide variety of conditions, riding styles and personal preferences. Features 106g of weight savings from the previous model with new crown, legs and internals. DoradoTM air allows for internal travel adjustments with no added parts. New travel spacers account for negative air volume change, so the 80mm fork has the same initial stroke feel as the 160mm. Expert Air spring systems contain a unique balancing valve that equalizes the positive and negative air chambers during the air fill process. This gives the spring rate a consistent feel without any flat or dead spots in the stroke, along with giving riders of different weights the same initial stroke feel. Dorado Air is our lightest weight air spring technology. Incremental Volume Adjust (IVA) modifies the volume in the positive air chamber with self contained spacers dictating the position of the IVA piston. This allows the main air spring ramp-up to be tuned to the rider weight, style and conditions without the need for additional parts. A single external compression adjuster that simultaneously adjusts HS and LS damping characteristics. It features a fixed shim stack and a secondary shim stack that is preloaded by the external adjuster. The resulting wide tuning range combines the benefits of a Low-speed platform and High-speed progressive tune can suit any terrain. New crown is 84g lighter, with increased knob clearance. 44mm offset to match modern fatbike geometry for precise handling and increased traction. Front brake routing allows the user to use the same length brake hose from their rigid fork, or other suspension fork. New arch ribs for increased casting stiffness. Tyre diameter clearance is 2mm shorter than the current EXT model, with a 6mm reduction of axle to crown. 796mm satisfies every fat bike tyre on the market!

This allows the main air spring ramp-up to be tuned to the rider's weight, style and conditions without the need for additional parts. Absolute Plus (ABS+) is a shim stack-based damper that features external incremental Low-Speed compression adjustment. The new tune increases wheel traction, rider comfort and control. The new crown is 94g lighter, with increased knob clearance. 44mm offset to match modern fat bike geometry for precise handling and increased traction. Front brake routing allows the user to use the same length brake hose from their rigid fork, or other suspension fork. Updated casting with non-threaded compression rod holes for ease of service. New arch ribs for increased casting stiffness. Tyre diameter clearance is 2mm shorter than the current EXT model, with a 6mm reduction of axle to crown.

Manitou Dorado Pro Suspension Fork

Legends Never Die Back in a big way, the all-new Dorado Pro is ready to turn the suspension world upside down. Featuring an inverted design, carbon upper structure, 37mm stanchions, and refreshed internals the new Dorado Pro is the pinnacle of suspension technology. The new stiffer chassis is paired with an all-new sealed version of our TPC+ damper and improved Dorado Air Spring with IRT volume adjuster. These technologies combined into one ultimate platform provides more than enough tunability to satisfy any savvy suspension tuner while being so easy to adjust that every rider can dial in their fork with ease. Features Carbon Fiber Legs and the 37mm chassis result in the stiffest and lightest Dorado to date. The carbon pro chassis is 27% stiffer than the previous 36mm version and 238g lighter than the new 37mm Expert version. They also have looks that can kill. Inverted Design provides an incredibly smooth and consistent feel due to constant lubrication of the bushings and seals. The inverted design also provides a major increase in fore-aft stiffness compared to traditional forks while maintaining torsional compliance which provides more control to the rider over rough terrain. Dorado Air Spring system contains a unique balancing valve that equalizes the positive and negative air chambers during the air fill process resulting in a consistent feel without any flat or dead spots. It also allows easy Travel Adjustability from 180 to 190 and 203mm without the need for any spare parts. IRT (Infinite Rate Tune) allows for advanced spring tuning by independently adjusting air pressures in the beginning and end stroke. IRT technology creates a secondary positive air spring that effects only the middle to end stroke of the fork. This allows the main air spring to be set to lower pressures for improved small bump sensitivity while maintaining mid-stroke support and moderate to aggressive end-stroke ramp-up. Sealed TPC+ is a velocity and position dependent damping circuit that maintains light damping thru small bumps when the fork is high in it's travel. As the fork compresses deeper in the travel the secondary TPC+ circuit engages and increased the damping force for added support and bottom-out prevention. Additionally, an independent Hydraulic Bottom-out circuit further increases the damping force in the final 30mm of travel to soften deep travel events and prevent hard bottom out. The new cartridge design with spring backed IFP fully seals damper oil for the most consistent damping on long demanding DH runs. Spring backed IFP has improved performance during extreme riding, unlike a bladder an IFP pressurizes the oil at the initial stroke eliminating any cavitation for the most consistent damping. Fits both 29" and 27.5" wheels. Markings on the outer legs indicate the proper clamping point for ideal axle to crown measurements depending on wheelsize. The fork legs can be used with both wheel sizes. Two Crown Options are available with this fork. The 47 offset is designed to work with 27.5" wheels and intended axle to crown. The 57 offset crown is designed for 29" wheels and axle to crown. TSR Bleed buttons allow you to release excess pressures built up in the outer legs of your fork with a simple tap of the button. This keeps your fork smooth and supple all day long. New direct mount fender is reversible, allowing for two orientations "moto" for increased front of fork coverage, "bike" for increased behind fork coverage. New 2 bolt drop crown features increased head tube length capability with 29" wheels. Developed in both the lab and via collaboration with our World Cup athletes to ensure maximum torsional stiffness of the Dorado 37 chassis.
