Lighter, stiffer, and more tunable than its competitors, the Mattoc is the desired component for all bikes. The Mattoc Expert should be on your bike not just because it can address all needs, but because it can improve the riding experience in a meaningful way. The Expert version of #thepeoplesfork tips the scales at a scant 1770 grams yet is stiffer than nearly anything else available in its travel range. Translation: an extremely lightweight and efficient build whose industry-leading stiffness ensures precise and reactive handling ready to outperform any other product it is compared to. The Manitou Expert boasts an Expert Air spring with IVA, and compression damping via the VTT-6P (Variable Terrain Tune) is our 6-position damper technology featuring a single external compression adjuster that simultaneously adjusts HS and LS damping characteristics.  It features a fixed shim stack and a secondary shim stack that is preloaded by the external adjuster. The resulting wide tuning range combines the benefits of a Low-speed platform and High-speed progressive tune can suit any terrain. From fire-road climbs to big flowy jump lines to high-speed chunky rocks, VTT-6P can adapt to all terrain with a flick of a switch. Features 27.5” is 20g less than the previous model. Expert Air has identical performance to DoradoTM Air in a more cost-effective package. Incremental Volume Adjust (IVA) modifies the volume in the positive air chamber with self-contained spacers dictating the position of the IVA piston. This allows the main air spring ramp-up to be tuned to the rider weight, style and conditions without the need for additional parts. Trail Side Relief casting bleed screws allow users to release casting pressure from the fork. Casting pressure increase is normal, and extreme riding can increase the pressure at a fast rate. Temperature and elevation changes can also cause increased casting pressure. Releasing casting pressure can improve overall fork feel and small bump compliance.

Manitou Mastodon Pro - Gen 3 Fat Bike Suspension Fork

The Mastodon is not a modified or repurposed trail fork compatible with large tyre dimensions, but rather it is a fat bike fork made to improve any ride regardless of how low or high the numbers on the thermometer read. Creating such a dynamic fork required all-environment and all-temperature performance testing that took the R+D staff to some of the most inhospitable testing environments in the world. To earn its place within the Manitou family, the Mastodon passed performance and reliability testing in both real-world and lab scenarios at temperatures as low as -40 degrees. The Dorado Air, seals, lubricants, and all other internals are proven for all-weather performance, no matter how extreme on either end of the temperature spectrum. Dorado Air is our lightest weight air spring technology. Infinite Rate TuneTM (IRT) allows for advanced spring tuning by independently adjusting air pressures at the beginning and end stroke. IRT technology creates a secondary positive air spring that affects only the middle to end stroke of the fork. This allows the main air spring to be set to lower pressures for improved small bump sensitivity while maintaining mid-stroke support and moderate to aggressive end-stroke ramp-up. Sealed Dampers offer more consistent damping and lighter break away force, especially over long descents. Our Damper uses a bladder system to compensate for head build up along with a relief valve.
