Features: Single chainring drive train setups are all the rage these days. With the introduction of exceedingly wide range 10- and 11-speed cassettes, the need for two chainrings has become a thing of the past.  But when you only have one chainring, the only thing standing between you and a long walk back to the trailhead is you making sure you don't destroy your one chainring.  That's why Surly made a charing guard to fit our O.D. cranks.  It is made of aluminium and will take the hit for your chainring.  It comes in 5 bolt, 94mm BCD.

Surly Ultra New 100mm Front Hub

Ultra New hubs look much like their predecessors. In fact, the hub shells have not changed at all. They remain 6061 T6 forged and machined aluminium alloy with medium-height flanges. What's Ultra New about these hubs are their guts.Ultra New hubs use hollow axles of our own design mated to threading wheel fixing bolts, as opposed to the nutted axles of our previous hubs. Hollow axles make conversion to quick release super easy (remove bolts, insert QR skewer, install wheel into frame or fork, ride). All Ultra New hubs come with fixing bolts, but all are QR compatible without axle conversion or any other extra crap. Neato. The axles are made of CroMoly steel, while the fixing bolts are 10.9 stainless steel (i.e. high grade) for corrosion resistance, high strength, and good looks, and the bolts tighten and loosen with a 6mm hex wrench.Bolt caps and 'cone' nuts are also stainless steel, and are heavily knurled for good bite, reducing the chance for your wheel to slip in the frame under high load. The cones and dust caps interlock to maintain axle stiffness. Ultra New hubs spin on non-adjustable 6901 model bearings. Throw your wheel on the bike, tighten the bolts and ride.One other thing you might like to know: All the Ultra New hardware will retrofit to New hubs. That is, we sell kits to completely transform your old New hubs into Ultra New hubs, complete with new axle, bolts, bearings, and the rest of the Ultra New hardware. Surly Cassette Cogs

Shimano compatible Spline fitting.9 Speed spaced, these cogs can be run 9speed or less, together with Shimano 9Spd gear shifter systems. Note: Teeth profiles are straight forward, making them ideal for Single Speed applications, however, with no twists or ramps etc, the gear shifting will not be as slick as with regular Shimano cogs when used in a multiple cog line-up.The large foot print caused by built-in spacing at the base of these machined cogs gives a larger foothold on the cassette body, making these a premium selection for Single Speed or multi-speed use with reduced risk of torque transfer damage to the cassette hub body. (Note: This point is especially important with Alloy or Ti Cassette bodies.)
