The 2x is designed to work seamlessly with the new wave of 2x9/10/11 drivetrains being specified on many new mountain bikes. These drivetrains created new challenges to chain management with their unique gear ratios, chain lines, and impact protection requirements. The 2x solves all of these challenges. To create the 2x guide, MRP began the process of applying their range of technologies and systems to find the optimal solution for 2x drivetrains, and through collaboration with SRAM and extensive testing it was decided that the ultimate light weight solution was a chain guide sharing elements of the G2sl, LRP, and XCG products. Notable is the absence of an outer capture ring on the cranksets, relying on the front derailleur and lower pulley assembly for complete chain retention. MRP's design goals are driven by the passion to design and produce products that allow riders to just ride - not worrying about chain damage or dropping a chain.The integrated skid protects the chainrings from impacts without the added weight of a full bash ring. Surly Ultra New 100mm Front Hub

Ultra New hubs look much like their predecessors. In fact, the hub shells have not changed at all. They remain 6061 T6 forged and machined aluminium alloy with medium-height flanges. What's Ultra New about these hubs are their guts.Ultra New hubs use hollow axles of our own design mated to threading wheel fixing bolts, as opposed to the nutted axles of our previous hubs. Hollow axles make conversion to quick release super easy (remove bolts, insert QR skewer, install wheel into frame or fork, ride). All Ultra New hubs come with fixing bolts, but all are QR compatible without axle conversion or any other extra crap. Neato. The axles are made of CroMoly steel, while the fixing bolts are 10.9 stainless steel (i.e. high grade) for corrosion resistance, high strength, and good looks, and the bolts tighten and loosen with a 6mm hex wrench.Bolt caps and 'cone' nuts are also stainless steel, and are heavily knurled for good bite, reducing the chance for your wheel to slip in the frame under high load. Diatech/Dia Compe is one of the very few companies authorised to use the Dia Compe USA/Cane Creek patented "split compression ring"Whilst this may appear a minor item... it actually has quite a significant effect in use. The split in the compression ring actually allows the ring to "grab" the fork steerer as the ring is compressed by the headset bearing adjustments. The "grabbing" prevents any possibility of "knocking" from play between the fork and the headset. Many other so called Ahead type headsets do not have this patented feature... even though, at first glance they appear to offer much the same performance. IMPORTANT NOTE: There are 3 main standards currently in use for Integrated headsets; They are all similar but NOT cross compatible... therefore check carefully which system your frame is made to accept.

Halo Double Fix-G Track Hub

An ever present headache with "normal fixed hubs" is the assembly of a drive cog that is attached by a thread being pulled in both directions by the pedal torque. Of course, the traditional solution to avoiding the cog unwinding itself from the hub in the reverse direction is a left hand threaded lockring, butted up tight against the cog.
