Surly ExtraTerrestrial Tyre 27.5

When you’re out on a ride the last thing you want is to be limited by your tyres in any way. Our ExtraTerrestrial Tyres were designed to let you ride without limits by simply following the only tenets we have for tyre design: they’re high volume and they kick ass. The ExtraTerrestrial tyre was meant to serve as a heavy-duty off-road touring tyre that shines on hardpack surfaces. It uses a nylon breaker in the sidewalls for cut protection, a moulded pattern for anti-cut propagation, and a Aramid cap under the tread to protect against flats. The ET Tyre uses a distinctly directional tread pattern and its width yields more traction than you might expect from a tyre with such little rolling resistance. The tread is low profile with a file tread in between tread blocks. The ExtraTerrestrial tyre has enough width and traction for the soft stuff and won’t bog you down on smooth or hard surfaces.

Surly Karate Monkey Frameset - Lost at Sea Blue

Karate Monkey delivers a resilient, lively ride on all sorts of gnarly terrain. Its frame is a highly versatile canvas for whatever dirty masterpiece your brain cooks up. According to our computing machine (Thor) it can be set up in approximately 487 different configurations. Originally designed as a 29er (and the frame that helped spark the 29" wheel movement), the latest Karate Monkey is designed to perform just as admirably as a 27.5+ rig as well. This allows you to pick your poison — provided your poison is having a really great time while permanently donning a smirk of satisfaction, of course.

Surly ExtraTerrestrial Tyre 700c

The ExtraTerrestrial is a 700c tyre with a very directional tread that offers a great balance between decreased rolling resistance and reliable traction. It shines on hardpack surfaces giving you plenty of traction in corners and on off camber stuff. The ET would be at home doing a long distance tour in S. America, or a pedal from S. Minneapolis through the River Bottoms.   We found it to be a good commuter tyre as well, especially if your commute takes you on mixed surfaces.

Surly Dirt Wizard 29 Tyre

Off Road 29 x 2.6" Mountain Bike tyres that are well suited to difficult UK conditions. The Surly Dirt Wizard is highly focused - one might even say spellbound – on providing traction and control on the kinds of surfaces where neither traction nor control are to be found. Its tread is composed of a dual row of aggressive, trail-gobbling, bevelled knobs in the centre and well-spaced, siped knobs to dig into loose corners. Designed to work on wider rims, Dirt Wizards are tall and wide, providing next-level traction and cushioning. The casings are flexible and responsive, yet durable and supportive. Minimum rim size for these naughty little wizards is a 35mm outer rim width. And if those black sidewalls aren't mesmerizing enough, we've made a grey sidewall option you can summon up. Surly Dirt Wizard tyres are also available in 27.5 x 2.8" size, search: Dirt Wizard 27.5 Tyre Or also in 'Plus' (3") sizes 27.5 x 3" and 29 x 3" Search: Dirt Wizard 27.5 Plus Tyre or Dirt Wizard 29 plus Tyre for more information.

Surly Knard 700 x 41c TLR Tyre

Tubeless Ready version of the Surly Knard The Knard is a tyre that just makes sense. With its tightly-spaced, low-block tread pattern, it provides the perfect ratio of traction and low rolling resistance. It grips well on all sorts of different surfaces and will haul some sausage on hardpack terrain or groomed trails. If you want a tyre that has a little less bite and a bit more speed, but don’t want to sacrifice traction, look no further.

Surly Straggler 650b Rival 1x Gravel Road Bike

One By version of the Surly Straggler So what is this Straggler anyway? The easy answer is to say that we added disc brakes to a Cross-Check and this is close to accurate. People have asked us to make a disc version of our highly versatile Cross-Check for a long time now and almost everything about the two are very similar. Straggler is slightly different, though. The most obvious difference of course is that the Straggler has disc caliper mounts instead of rim brake studs. It'll accept rotors up to 160mm. The rear dropouts are unique, too. They're a partially closed horizontal design that accommodates singlespeed or geared drivetrains. They feature stop screws that thread in from the rear to further secure the wheel and to position the rear wheel for optimal shifting, plus a forward-mounted stop screw on the drive side to keep the wheel from slipping forward under the force of your gargantuan legs. The rear dropouts are spaced 135mm instead of 132.5mm like the Cross-Check simply because there are far more options for disc hubs in this spacing. Straggler shares all of the Cross-Check's braze-ons for fenders, racks and bottle cages. The Straggler's geometry is slightly different, with angles and tube lengths very close but not identical to the Cross-Check, but like the Cross-Check it's ready to take you just about anywhere. It's a day tripper and a weekender. It's a "rough road" road bike. It's a cyclocross bike with no pretense about racing. It's a utilitarian townie. It's a light-duty touring bike. It's an all-weather commuter. And when you get tired of one set up, you can swap parts around and turn it into something else. We think that's pretty neat. PLEASE NOTE: The Surly Straggler 1x Bike is UK specc'd by Ison and will differ from the complete bikes as shown on the US Surly site

Surly Disc Trucker 26" Touring Bike

Disc Trucker enjoys the same reputation as Long Haul Trucker: It’s one of the best-riding and most value-packed drop bar touring bikes out there. Sometimes, however, a combination of load, climate, and terrain demands a bit more braking performance than a standard rim-brake LHT can provide. That’s where the newly redesigned Disc Trucker comes in. Packing reliable stopping power and a horde of useful mounting points, shortened chainstays up the Disc Trucker’s stiffness and maneuverability around corners. Add in improved fit and handling under load, plus captured thru-axles for tool-free removal and installation, and the Disc Trucker is ready to help you meet — or dodge — your daily obligations. Dynamo routing on the fork, plus three-pack mounts on the blade and every braze-on you’ll ever need for racks, mudguards, water bottle cages, and more 12mm thru-axles for a stiffer feel and increased stability when fully loaded Shortened seat tube and slightly sloped top tube for improved stand-over clearance, plus increased stack height for a more upright and comfortable riding position on those long hauls Spec’d with the Truck Stop Bar and tubeless ExtraTerrestrial tyres for dependable handling and traction Flat-mount disc brakes Frame sizes 42–56cm are available with 26” diameter wheels, while frame sizes 56–64cm are available with 700c diameter wheels Clearance for 26” x 2.1” tyres with or without mudguards, or 700c x 47mm with or without mudguards

Surly Ice Cream Truck Frameset - Ex Display

The Ice Cream Truck has the ability to float over pretty much anything you'll find out there be it snow, rocks, mud, sand, or rocky mud. But unlike Surlys other, more terrain crawling fat bike models, the Ice Cream Truck's geometry is trail approved and ready to rip.The Ice Cream Truck is made out of Surlys own proprietary 4130 CroMoly steel and is ED coated. ED coating is a process that leaves a coating that externally provides a solid foundation for paint while also providing an added layer of corrosion protection internally, however, they still recommend an additional treatment such as Frame Saver or Boeshield. Ice Cream Truck begins to differ from all of Surlys other fat bike models from there. The Ice Cream Truck frame is symmetrically spaced at 190mm. It features Surlys MDS dropout system so you have the option of running a 197mm thru-axle, 190mm geared or a single speed rear end. It also features a 132mm wide PressFit 41 bottom bracket. Giving the Ice Cream Truck a PF41 bottom bracket allowed them to move the stays out and create a much stiffer rear end. The frame is spec'd with a 44mm headtube to give you options in the fork department and comes with a suspension corrected straight blade fork with dropouts spaced at 150mm with a 15mm thru-axle.When Surly designed the Ice Cream Truck they borrowed elements from the Krampus and Instigator geometries to make this bike feel frisky and limber. The complete build rounds out this bike as an aggressive trail bomber. And with 4.8" tyres on 100mm rims you have the option of going through instead of around anything in your path.
